Mountain Climb – Hike

This adventure is not for the faint hearted, as its name suggests we climb 6 mountains in 1 day, rewarding within beyond recognition. Adventurers fitness level to reach each summit we recommend intermediate though Experientia believes it’s not always about the destination rather the journey so our Ventures will allow adequate time for decent to incorporate all 6 mountains. Whatever fitness level Experientia guarantees at the very least 3 summits that capture the glorious scenery of the prestigious Glass House mountains and Sunshine Coast hinterland.
From Caloundra a 20 minute drive to:
Wild Horse Mountain – This is the smallest of the Glass House Mountains standing at 123m (1.4km return) and the most accessible as it possesses a concrete/bitumen track all the way to the summit who boosts the most Western view of the Glasshouse mountains.
10 minute drive to:
Mount Beerburrum -150m (1.4km return) in stature don’t be fooled as Beerburrum has the steepest incline concrete path of the Glass House mountains, GREAT CALF BURNER, with 360 degrees views of the Sunshine Coast on the summit.
12 minute drive to:
Mount Ngungun – 253m high (2.8km return) Pronounced “noo noo” though “Gun Gun” as the locals call it has a man-made path that winds through unrivalled floral like no other on the Sunny Coast with a spectacular forest and fern understory. Close up views of “Tibro”, “Crooked Neck” & “Mother B” at the summit.
55 minutes drive to:
Mount Cooroora – is arguably the most famous of the Glass House mountains as an annual event “King of the mountain” is held with all adventures from around the globe competing. 446m high (2km return) a super fun climb consists of a bush trail, concrete/metal stairs with a chain half way up (great for decent) followed into chiselled rock formations allowing your hands to come into play. Vast 360 degree views of the other side of Sunshine Coast’s hinterland.
drive 25 minutes to:
Mount Ninderry – 304m (2.5km return) this is one of the Coast’s secret treasures, tucked away inland of Coolum with glimpses of Maroochy River and the Pacific Ocean. Walking this newly upgraded bush track has a couple of great rock formations along the trail for an extra photo opportunity for the adventurous explorer. Beautiful eastern views at the plateau.
drive 25 minutes to
Mount Coolum – Absolute rewarding bliss concluding this adventure on the spectacular dome shaped mountain. At 203m this climb starts with a bush trail (3.2km return) that combines chiselled rock stair cases with several breath-taking openings to bask in the scenery along the trek.
